There is at least one historical precedent for not telling everything which has been learned or rumored about a public figure. Throughout his presidency, U. Roosevelt's polio paralysis was known by every reporter who covered The White House, but they chose not to publicize it.

They knew, but those who had the information and could have reported it decided instead to respect FDR, and even protect him, apparently because his condition was unrelated to his job. Jordan might be feeling some heat from various places because of all the sexual smut he included in the book, and so he's employing the old tactic of using a straw man.

Instead of defending his use of sex and more sex in his book, he's diverting the attention away from himself and placing it on Jim. Jordan did not have to tell everything he knew, simply because he had the information. He could have followed the example of the White House reporters: The notebook has fallen apart, but this is one of the original songs that were inside.

Fortunately, a number of lyrics from that notebook have been shared between fans. It opened a window to a part of Jim's early career. A few very interesting items of Jim Reeves memorabilia are being auctioned on Ebay this week.

These are handwritten lyrics of an early Jim Reeves song, "Vagabond Baby". The lyrics are the original for the song, and most likely when it came to a demo, Jim decided he didn't like the word "Vagabond" anymore and decided to change it for "Heartbreaking" which certainly doesn't agree with the original Vagabond" theme of the rest of the lyrical content.

I note there were four verses in Jim's original and only 3 in the demo. This was left blank I believe, so that Jim could come up with the lyrics for a bridge sometime later. He was never very good at writing bridges which always caused him problems in those early song efforts. On the other side of the lyrics is the typed lyrics of an Eddy Arnold song, "I couldn't believe it was true".

Jim would sing it in "E" key. Together with the lyrics, a telegram from a Mr. Stiles from Albuquerque asking for a glossy picture, and an October program book of the "Saharan" hotel in Las Vegas. Jim would play golf there occasionally. Jack Benner reported to me today: A few days ago, a small portion from an acetate recording from the same demo, surfaced on the web. It is believed that both originally were part of the Jim Reeves estate.

It makes one wonder what other never commercially released Jim Reeves recordings, in part or in full, will eventually surface. The three songwriters were honoured at the BMI dinner November 2, For almost 35 years Mary nursed, promoted and especially protected the image of 'Gentleman Jim Reeves.

Jim Reeves first used this studio on December 12, from The building still stands and is a museum visited by many country music fans, although it is occasionally used for special recordings sessions. Leo has played on many Jim Reeves recording sessions, although he's been listed on only a few session sheets.

Leo Jackson was born 83 years ago today. I can't remember who took this picture of Leo Jackson, me, and two members of the fan club, taken at a special fan club meeting, at the Carthage Chamber of Commerce, on April 13, Fan club member and publicist James Reddiough wrote an article about the Jim Reeves tour of the west of Ireland which got published on the 'Irish Memories' website.

James has written many articles about the tour which were published in a number of Irish magazines. He also published a booklet about that tour a few years ago. The song was recorded by Larry Cunningham. The presenter, Joan Hallmark reported: I did talk with his wife Billie. We were going to have a fan club meeting in October but the venue in Hilversum had no spare dates in October or November left.

We will have one in the Spring, probably at an other location. Darcy Johnson, of the Carthage Flower Shop, reported: So we are just getting a little rain. Thanks for checking in on us! Houston and the rest of South Texas need prayers. RCA even promoted the fan club by including the name and the address on the rear cover of volume 2. That's very unfortunate as a number of fans will no doubt tune in to his program today.

I asked Bucks to play a Jim Reeves record for all loyal fans of Jim Reeves on his program, this morning. For almost a decade fans could buy newly overdubbed recordings of Jim Reeves by an American Indie label by mail order. Those albums got some airplay on country music radio programmes, but the general public wasn't aware of these recordings.

It received quiet a bit of promotion on television, radio, and the Internet in Europe. This should have given the "New Jim Reeves" an enormous boost in popularity and sales. Her father was of mostly English and German ancestry, and her mother was from a Jewish family from Germany, Russia, and Hungary. Peet's great-grandfathers were politician Samuel Levy and showbiz impresario S.

Peet made an unconventional stage debut at the age of three, when she jumped onto the stage during a play. Yet, despite this early start, she later studied acting more as a hobby than anything else. She studied history at Columbia University, where a drama professor convinced her to audition for acting teacher Uta Hagen , with whom she later went on to study for a four-year period.

Her feature film debut came in with the movie Animal Room For a while afterward, Amanda continued to find steady work but also found herself appearing in a depressingly large number of indie films that were never picked up for distribution.

She did, however, meet her boyfriend Brian Van Holt on the set of indie movie Whipped Her turn as the ditzy hit-woman with the heart of gold in the hit comedy The Whole Nine Yards , opposite Bruce Willis , took her from supporting role status to leading lady.
